Acupuncture and Anxiety: What a New Meta-Analysis Found

Why this caught our attention

This study sits directly at the intersection Nourich is exploring through its Integrative Health Ecosystem: Traditional Chinese Medicine, nervous-system health, and contemporary clinical research.

What the researchers studied

Researchers reviewed randomized controlled trials comparing acupuncture with control conditions for adults with anxiety disorders. Twelve studies involving 1,240 participants met the criteria for the meta-analysis.

What they found

Across the included trials, acupuncture groups showed statistically greater improvements in anxiety symptoms. The researchers also found no statistically significant difference in adverse-event incidence between acupuncture and control groups.

Why it matters to the Nourich™ ecosystem

This is the kind of research the Living Page is meant to collect. It gives us another opportunity to examine where traditional practices such as acupuncture meet contemporary neuroscience, clinical research, and whole-person approaches to well-being.
